Nick Rheinberger from ABC Illawarra interviews Sutton Forest resident and member of Save Our Sands Alliance Bernadette Lawlor ahead of the public meeting with the Department of Planning and Environment on Tuesday, 31 July 2018.
Rheinberger announces the Department of Planning and Environment has rescheduled the public meeting over a sand quarry, which is proposed for Sutton Forest in the Southern Highlands. Lawlor mentions that the Department booked a very small room at a hall in Sutton Forest in early July and people couldn’t get in. She mentions the meeting was cancelled and rescheduled for a more appropriate venue. She says it will be a positive thing as people can attend and send a clear message to the Department that there is a lot of angst in the mine.
